Community Services
The homeless population in Visalia (and Tulare County) is increasing. That’s moms and dads, children and grandparents, veterans and entire families who find themselves on the streets or taking refuge along the St. John’s River edge. In 2022, more people were accessing emergency shelter beds than in 2020. Over the last 10 years, Tulare County alone has seen a 62% increase in the homeless population.*
At Visalia Rescue Mission, we provide a number of services for our community all designed to meet their current needs but to also prepare them for their future.

Case Management
We offer case management to our community members who need help overcoming the challenges of homelessness.
Some services include:
- ID/ Birth Certificate/ Social Security Replacement
- Referrals to Housing Assistance
- Employment Referrals
- Immigration Referrals
- Court Documents
- Money Management
- Credit Repair
- Advocacy for Self-Sufficiency
- Crisis Management
Showers
Community Showers are offered for men and women who are in need of a place to take a hot shower, receive hygiene supplies, and a safe place for our community members to change their clothes and have a fresh start to their day.
